CAC The Panama Pacific $50 is always a loved piece in our inventory with our store being near the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The heft and shape of these 2.5oz coins is unmistakeable and reminds us of the "Slugs" of the Gold Rush. The gold coins of the Pan-Pac Expo feature design motifs that are no seen on any other US Coins. The $50 Octagonal has Minerva, a Roman Goddess, on the Obverse along with dolphins around the rim and the revere features an owl and pine cones versus the traditional eagle with arrows and branches.

The present coin in MS64 CAC has a CAC population of 51 with only 15 coins finer. The surfaces are well preserved with minimal distractions and fantastic luster. This issue was subject to melting after these coins failed to sell for their high asking price at PPIE and left a mintage of just 645 pieces.
